GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Rileigh Eding was part of two school records as Albion College displayed a competitive fire that made coach Jake Taber proud Thursday night.
Eding got a school record in leading off the 200 freestyle relay in the morning and she joined Nicole McCann, Tia Ulieme and Hannah Erickson for a school record in a second place finish in the free relay in the evening. Calvin College set a NCAA 'B' cut qualifying time (1:33.83) to win, with the Britons finishing in 1:36.49.
Individually, Eding took a bronze medal in the 50 free when she sprinted to the wall in 23.79.
Eding finished the session with a bronze medal along with Kaitlind Hooper, Alexandra Horman and Anna Moore in the 400 medley relay.
Albion also had Sarah Kilbride (sixth in the 200 individual medley), Katie Ferrero (eighth in the 500 free) and Ulieme (eighth in the 50 free) in championship races Thursday night.
In consolation swims, Camila Manrique and Horman were third and sixth, respectively, in the 500 free, Katelyn Killewald (second), Abigail Slager (third) and Amanda Quitos (sixth) represented Albion in the 200 IM, and Erickson and McCann were second and seventh, respectively, in the 50 free.
Friday events include 1-meter diving, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 200 medley relay.
