NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Albion College senior Cassandra Vince was at the front of the pack Saturday, even running against competition from Division I teams from Bucknell University, the University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland University.
A product of Amherst, Ohio, Vince was the first runner to reach the finish. She crossed the line in the 5K race in 17:46.1.
Darby Kellogg, a first-year runner for Albion, also finished in the top 10. She completed her race in 18:39.3.
Leaha Sinnaeve, a senior from Leslie, Mich., finished just outside the top 20. She was 21st, crossing the line in 19:45.
Peyton Brooks (20:11.0), Jessica Pekrul (20:30.6), Jordan Revenaugh (20:41.0) and Kendra Cook (20:58.8) completed Albion's top seven.
The Briton runners will take a break from competition until Sept. 29 when they travel to Chicago for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
