ALBION, Mich. – Albion College led wire-to-wire as it defeated Kalamazoo College, 136-107, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's swimming and diving dual meet.
Albion had the first and third place teams in the 400-yard medley relay to lead from the start. Ian Moran, Jake Huttenlocher, Cole Nelson and Brendan Ritchie set the winning time of 3:36.71.
Huttenlocher turned in a dominating performance in the 200 individual medley, setting a time of 1:59.81 to finish 4 ½ seconds ahead of the competition. He also dominated the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.30 to finish 4 ½ seconds ahead of the field.
Albion seized control of the meet with Andrew Fogel, Nate Cobb and Nelson swept the top three places in the 200 butterfly and Evan Wonner and Declan Tharp went one-two in the 100 free.
Albion also achieved a one-two finish with Mac Robertson and Gerardo Huidobro in the 500 freestyle.
Moran swam to first place in the 200 backstroke and Cobb was first in the 200 freestyle.
Albion is now 2-1 against MIAA rivals in dual meet competition. The Britons will take a break from dual meets until January.
Next up for the Britons is the important midseason invitational at Wabash College. It is a three-day meet running from Nov. 22-24.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
