GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Samantha Swingewood swam to first place in the 200-yard individual medley and Albion College achieved a runner up finish in the 400 medley relay in the opening session of a quadrangle meet at Calvin University.
Swingewood set a time of 2:12.21 in the IM, while her sister, Courtney, was fourth at 2:18.09.
Nicole McCann, Katy Henning, Tia Ulieme and Hannah Erickson were second in the relay with a time of 4:07.04.
Albion sits in second place in the team standings. Calvin leads with 319 points, followed by Albion (244), Carthage College (238) and Ohio Northern University (136).
- Megan Harvey was Albion's best performer in the 500 freestyle, finishing fourth (5:36.02)
- Ulieme finished fifth in the 50 freestyle (24.97 seconds)

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
