HUDSONVILLE, Mich. - Albion men dominate quad meet over DePauw, Hope and Franklin College. Albion finished with a total of 919.5 points while being followed by DePauw (747.5), Hope (711), and Franklin (689).
Jake Huttenlocher led the Britons with a total of 63 points. A third-place finish in the 200 IM, a fourth-place finish in the 400 IM, and a first-place finish in the 200 breast was able to propel the Britons to a dominating win.
Evan Wonner put together 60 points in a strong weekend performance. He finished second in the 50 Free, third in the 100 Fly, and fourth in the 100 Free.
"This meet is a great format for the teams to swim events they may be swimming at MIAA's in just over a month." Said Head Coach Nick Stone. "And for this time of year, we are looking to work on the finer details of racing, and not focus too much on times."
At the diving board, Justin Huttenlocher put together a second-place finish in the 1-meter diving and a third-place finish in the 3-meter competitions for 41 points.
Noah Mitchell's strongest performance came during the Saturday afternoon session. A 2:13.58 secured a second-place result for the 200 Breast.
With two teams from Michigan and two from Indiana, there was a unique opportunity in the relay events. Albion teamed up with Hope as Team Michigan while Team Indiana was Franklin College and DePauw. These events did not count towards the individual team results.

Albion's next contest will come on January 31st as they host Olivet in a dual-meet where the seniors will be recognized.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
