NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- On a dreary afternoon, the Albion College cross country teams competed at the MIAA Championships. Led by two All-MIAA finishes by
Megan McCulloch and Sam Bieth, the Briton women took fifth as the men's side placed sixth.
McCulloch's time of 22:31.5 landed her fifth overall and a spot on the first team. Birth ran a new personal best, clocking in at 23:01.8, good for 11th and a second team honor.
Freshmen
Fatima Cruz (25:21.4) and
Olivia DeGraaf (25:47.5) had impressive outings at their first MIAA title meet, taking 35th and 40th.
Helena Abbott was just two runners behind, finishing at 25:%1.5.
Peyton Brooks (26:50.4) and
Avery Roundtree (28:29.8) rounded out the team.
Jayden VanMaurick led the men's team in 26th overall. The senior recorded a new PR, clocking in at 27:42.5.
Not far behind were
Houston Bowen Jr. (28:57.3),
Paul Sutton (29:03.1) and
Ikenna Achara (29:03.9). The trio took home 34th, 36th and 37th, respectively.
Rounding out the team were Joe Erickson (29:29.6),
Ruark Wicka (29:25.5) and
Owen Poling (29:37.4). The group of freshmen had a good showing at their first conference championship meet.
The Britons will race at the Regional Meet on Nov. 13 hosted by Franklin College.
