FB: No. 11 Wis.-La Crosse bounces Brits from NCAA Tournament

ALBION -- Despite home field advantage, the Albion College football team saw its season come to an end on Saturday afternoon, falling to No. 11 Wisconsin-La Crosse, 58-23. The Eagles exploded to a 27-0 lead early on and never looked back in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs.

UWL racked up 546 yards of total offense. Albion finished with 340 yards of offense, but -1 in rushing yards.

Jack Bush concludes his stellar career after throwing for 341 yards and three touchdowns. Kolby Canfield led all receivers with 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Defensively, Albion was led by Jeremiah Major (16 tackles) and Stephen Douglas (11 tackles).

Out of the gate, UWL made its presence known by forcing Albion into a three and out. The Eagles drew first blood with a touchdown on their first drive. UWL scored once more before the quarter ended, and faced a fourth and goal from the Albion one heading into the second quarter.

On the first play of the second quarter, the visitors increased the lead to 20-0. The story would be all UWL through the first half with the exception of a Jackson Cooney field goal that barely snuck through the uprights. Albion trailed 30-3 at the half.

After a UWL score, the Britons scored their first touchdown of the game midway through the third. Bush found Canfield over the middle for a 17-yard TD pass, bringing the score to 37-10.

Albion tacked on a second TD in the third, when Bush found Kyle Thomas for a 42-yard score.

A 58-yard catch and run in the final minute of the game from Canfield capped the scoring.

The Britons conclude the season with a 9-2 record.
