GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- After another solid performance, the Albion College women's swimming and diving finished third at the MIAA Championships, as day two wrapped up on Saturday evening.
Samantha Swingewood highlighted the day for the Britons, claiming two MIAA titles and setting a new school record. In the 200 yard fly, she broke the school record and set a new time of 2:05.16. She later went on to win the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:34.91.
Right behind her in the 400 IM was twin Courtney Swingewood, clocking in at 4:41.45, good for second place.
Katy Henning shined in the 100 yard breaststroke, taking second place with a time of 1:06.22.
After a fantastic day on Thursday, Sage Gettings continued her strong swimming with a second place finish in the 50 meter free, coming in at 24.14.
With a time of 2:06.62, Sarah Griffiths also landed a spot on the podium in the 200 yard butterfly. She also added a fifth place swim in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59.61.
In the 100 yard backstroke, Emily Merucci took seventh with a time of 100.03.
The 400 yard medley relay squad of Gettings, Merucci, Samantha Swingewood and Hannah Erickson finished third with a time of 3:33.57.
Clocking in at 4:49.90 was Angela McCauley in the 400 yard IM.
In the 3m dive, Sarah Stone was seventh and Lindsey Walicki was eighth.
This wraps up the condensed swimming and diving season for the Britons.
