FRANKLIN, Ind. --
Megan McCulloch and
Samantha Bieth paced the Albion College cross country teams, as they went 1-2 at the Franklin Grizzly Invitational on Saturday morning. McCulloch won the 6K with a time of 23:02.2 followed by Bieth's race of 23:32.5.
The women's team took him third place overall, led by outstanding performances by both McCulloch and Bieth. Next for the Britons was freshman
Olivia DeGraaf, who took 27th with a time of 25:33.4.
With a time of 26:52.0, senior
Peyton Brooks was next for the Brits. Just behind her was
Helena Abbott, who finished at 27:10.0. Freshman Avery Roundtree was next with a time of 28:18.3 to round out the squad.
In the 8K, the men's team finished in seventh. Leading the way for the Britons was freshman
Connor Callard, who took 38th overall with a time of 28:07.5. Slightly behind him was
Jayden VanMaurick, taking 42nd with a race time of 28:29.2.
With a time of 29:11.6,
Nathaniel Jennings was next for Albion. Two places behind the second with Ikenna Achard with a time of 29:19.8.
Owen Poling's race of 29:30.7 was a good showing for the freshman while classmate Joe Erickson was next with a time of 29:57.3.
Noah Flint (30:47.2) and
Paul Sutton (31:33.8) rounded out the team.Â
Both teams will be in action on Sept. 17 at the Spartan Invitational.Â
