ALBION, Mich. — Taking on a Division II opponent, the Albion College women's swimming and diving team dropped a close meet to Hillsdale College, 136-91.
In the 400 yard medley relay, the Britons had two teams compete. The team of
Alexis Glaser, Emily Evers, Lauren Bailey and Chalondra Bailey took third with a 4:27.88.
Mady Laber, Gray Willig,
Mikala Muccino and
Katie Flynn finished fourth with a time of 4:50.81.
Bryn Cavanaugh's time of 11:42.10 earned her third in the 1000 free.
Olivia Perfili dropped a significant time with a 12:15.56. The final Briton who competed was Alyvia Martinez who finished with a 12:45.89.
Junior
Sage Gettings was second in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.23.
Emma Frame (2:16.77) and
Laurel Campbell (2:23.04) were fifth and sixth.
Hannah Fathman won the 50 yard free, touching the wall at 24.54. Chalondra Jewell and Laber were sixth and seventh in the event.
Fathman also won the 100 yard free with a time of 53.85.
Alexis Glaser was fifth with a 1:01.13 and Willig finished sixth:
Sophomore
Mattie Smith continued her success in the 200 yard IM, clocking in at 2:13.88. Finishing fifth and sixth we're Emily Evers and Lauren Bailey.
Mads Rais won the 1-meter dive (148.00). Freshman Megan Shay was just behind, scoring a 146.20. Rais also won the 3-meter dive.
Gettings later went on to claim third in the 200 fly while Flynn was fifth.
Emma Frame, Campbell and Laber were 4-5-6 in the 200 back.
With a time of 5:36.27, Cavanaugh took second in the 500 free. Perfili and Martinez placed fifth and sixth.
Smith later won the 200 breaststroke. She also competed on the 400 free relay team that placed second. She was joined by Gettings, Fathman and Cavanaugh.
Tomorrow, the men's team competes at Wabash for a duel with the Little Giants.
