Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's tennis stays hot in South Carolina

HILTON HEAD, SC – Earning their third straight victory, the Albion College men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win over Capital University on Tuesday. The win caps off the front half of the team's five-match trip down south. 

Drake Malcolm and Brett Gurzell continued their success at first doubles, winning by an 8-4 margin. At second doubles, Patrick Smoker and Danny McGarry won the match with ease, claiming an 8-2 win. Rounding out doubles play was an 8-3 win from Michael Polizzi and Cecil Burkhart.

Gruzell went on to win at first singles, 7-5, 6-3. McGarry narrowly lost in a tiebreaker at second singles for the Brits. 

With 6-0, 6-1 wins, Malcolm handily defeated his opponent at third singles. Polizzi, Smoker and Matthew Czarnecki all went on to earn victories in their singles matches, sending the Brits back with another win.

Albion will return to action on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Buena Vista
