WLAX edged out in MIAA Semifinals

ALBION – Four days after an 18-17 win over Trine University, the Albion College women's lacrosse team fell by the same score to the Thunder in the MIAA Semifinals. Trine used a second quarter run to gain momentum and eventually seal the win with a late goal. 

Albion's season comes to a close with a 13-4 overall mark and a MIAA Regular Season Championship. 

In another back and forth contest, the Britons led by a slim 5-4 margin after one, but Trine outscored Albion in the second to take an 11-9 lead into the half. 

The Britons worked to tie the game at 14 by the end of the fourth. Chrystelle Lopez and Addie Pastor capitalized on free position goals, while Abby Sheklow netted one late.

Trine held Albion scoreless for nearly the final seven and a half minutes. A late goal from Pastor cut the score to one, but the Thunder won the draw and sealed the win. 

Albion was 18 of 19 on the clear. 

Lopez led Albion with six goals. Sheklow netted a pair while adding an assist. 

This concludes the illustrious careers of Chrystelle Lopez, Destiny Okon, Abby Sheklow, Isabela Urbanski and Alexis Robinson. This group has set a number of records and claimed a MIAA Tournament and Regular Season Championship. Lopez leaves Albion's all-time leader in goals, assists and points.
