Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer blows by the Berg

Jonathan Euceda scored two goals and dished out two assists in the win.

ALBION – On Football Sunday, a football team of other sorts – the Albion College men's soccer team – put up a touchdown in a 7-0 win over Heidelberg University. The Britons, winners of two straight, improve to 4-4-1 overall in their penultimate non-conference contest.

Freshman Jonathan Euceda continued to sparkle, scoring two goals and tacking on a pair of assists. Grady Lycan added three points for the hosts.

It didn't take long for Albion to get on the board, scoring just five minutes into the game. Euceda played a beautiful ball across the box to Lycan, who one-timed a shot past the Heidelberg keeper for a 1-0 lead.

In the 17th minute, Euceda doubled Albion's lead by hammering home a rebound for a 2-0 advantage.

Stefan Isaevski scored the final goal of the half in the 37th minute. On the wing, senior Micah Cross played a ball into Euceda. The freshman one-touched the ball ahead to Isaevski, who fired a shot into the back of the net to put the hosts on top at the half, 3-0.

Junior Brett Swaton inflated the advantage just two minutes into the second half, rifling home a shot off a pass from Lycan. Five minutes later, Euceda recorded his second strike of the contest, this one coming from Roberto Villareal.

Alex Carre-Font assisted on senior captain Carter Peek's goal in the 74th minute. Albion's final goal came from Brayden Stavros. The sophomore's shot ricocheted off a Student Prince and into the net for the seventh and final tally.

Albion outshot the Berg, 22-3. Sophomore goalkeeper Anton Favre earned the win, making a pair of saves.

The Britons had 10 corner kick opportunities compared to Heidelberg's one.

Albion wraps up non-conference play on Thursday when they host Finlandia. Game time has been pushed up and will begin at 5 p.m.
