Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer win streak extends to three games

ALBION – It was a chippy, gritty win.

In their non-conference finale, the Albion College men's soccer team prevailed over Finlandia University, 2-1. A pair of first half goals would be enough for the Britons, as they improve to 5-4-1 overall.

Senior captain Carter Peek got Albion on the board first in the 11th minute. Jonathan Euceda drew a foul in the box, allowing the Britons to be awarded a penalty kick. Peek easily hammered home the PK for a 1-0 lead early on.

Just three minutes later, a miscue by the Albion back line allowed the Lions to even the game at one.

Midway through the first half, Euceda put Albion back on top with his sixth goal in the last five games. Ultimately proving to be the game-winner, the freshman netted home the shot off a pass from Grady Lycan

Sophomore goalkeeper Anton Favre made six saves in the win.

The teams combined for 23 fouls in the match.

Albion will have the weekend off before starting conference play on Wednesday. The Britons will host Alma College in their MIAA opener. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
