Women's golf gets season underway against Hope

JACKSON, Mich. – Despite falling in both days of a two-day dual with Hope College, the Albion College women's golf team has gotten a strong start to the season. On Friday, the Britons shot a 339 and shot a 344 on Saturday at their new home course, Cascades Golf Course.

Emily Abramcyk paced Albion both days, shooting an 87 Friday and an 83 on Saturday. Fellow junior Sabrina Fitzgerald saw a nine stroke improvement, taking a 95 from Friday and turning in an 86 on Saturday.

Senior Taylor Downs recorded an 88 in both days of competition.

Kenzie Gilletter (81, 87) and Helen Buk (83, 90) rounded out the team.

Competing as individuals were Zoe Autore (95, 99), Mel Foust (123, 115), Miranda McKee (116, 105) and Riley McKinney (122).

The Britons will compete at the Kyle Campbell Memorial Sep 9-10 at Medalist GC.
