Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | by Conor McPartlin

Men's soccer battles to draw at Benedictine

The Albion men's soccer team, coming off a win at home just one day prior, traveled to Lisle, Illinois to face the eagles of Benedictine University. The match was highly contested and hard fought from both sides, ending in a 2-2 tie. The Britons had no problem keeping their fans on the edge of their seats for the entirety of the match.

Almost nine minutes in, junior Grady Lycan scored his second goal of the season, putting the Britons on the board.

Sixty minutes later, senior Stefan Isaevski responded to Benedictine's run of two goals with one of his own, his first of the season.

The Britons had more total shots than the Eagles (9-5), as well as shots on goal (3-2). In the end, the four yellow cards against the team significantly hurt them, with one resulting in a penalty kick goal.

The Britons get a much needed break before they travel to Milwaukee to face the Raiders of the Milwaukee School of Engineering on September 9th.
