Women's wrestling back in action at Hastings

HASTINGS, Neb. – Hannah Palise was third in her weight class as the Albion College women's wrestling team returned to the mats on Sunday. At 136, the freshman recorded three wins, two coming via falls.

Palise was 3-1 overall, earning a tech fall to start the day and then a pin in 3:33. Falling into the consolation bracket, the freshman worked her way back with a pin in 2:54 in the third place bout.

Also competing at 136 was Hannah Arledge. Turning in a 2-2 record on the day, the freshman recorded pins in times of 1:54 and 25 seconds.

Gabby Motz finished fifth at 109. Going 4-2, Motz picked up a tech fall win and closed out the day with a pin in 4:44. In the same class, Lynsey Light was 1-4, taking eighth and pinning an opponent in 3:35.

At 130, freshman Danielle Ruiz was 1-2.

Sophomore Jayla Oberst was sixth overall at 116. She started the day with a dominant 11-0 tech fall victory.

On Jan. 15, the Britons will compete at the Lakeland Scramble.
