Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's basketball stymied at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – An early deficit and poor free throw shooting hurt the Albion College men's basketball team, dropping a 67-56 decision at Ohio Wesleyan University. In the loss, senior AJ Barden scored 19 points, tying a career-high.

Barden was the lone Briton in double figures, as Albions struggled offensively early on. The visitors committed 18 turnovers, leading to 23 points from Ohio Wesleyan. Collectively, Albion knocked down just one 3-pointer – a buzzer beater before the end of the first half from Zak Krueger.

Midway through the second half, the Battling Bishops had extended their lead to as large as 15 points. As the Brits slowly chipped away at the OWU lead, Albion could not close the gap to fewer than six points.

Albion was 11 for 22 from the free throw line. Barden and Nathan Steinman each dished out three assists. Barden ended the night with nine rebounds as Lamar Lee's eight totaled a career-high.

The Britons will finally play at Kresge Gymnasium on Saturday when they host PSU-Altoona for a 4 p.m. tip.
