Gurzell, Doyle pick up wins in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – On their second day of Florida competition, the Albion College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 match to St. Mary's (Minn.).

In doubles pay, the Brits hung with a very tough Cardinal squad.At first doubles, the team of Brett Gurzell and Jacob Doyle dropped an 8-5 decision. The team of Drake Malcolm and Brendan Morrison was narrowly edged out at third doubles, 8-7 (7-4).

Gurzell, a senior, picked up his second win in as many days at first singles. Gurzell rattled off a 6-3, 7-5 victory over his opponent. At fourth singles, freshman Josh Doyle won by scores of 6-2, 7-5.

The Britons will play Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday beginning at 12:30 p.m.
