Women's golf defeats Hope in first half of dual

The Brits narrowly edged out the Flying Dutch on day one.

HOLLAND, Mich. – Round one goes to the Brits.

Playing Hope College in a two-day competition, the Albion College women's golf team defeated the Flying Dutch by just two strokes. On the day, Albion shot a 346 while Hope recorded a 348.

Senior Emily Abramczyk shot an 81 – tied for the best score of the day with a Hope golfer. Both Helen Buk and Kenzie Gillette shot 87s for Albion. Freshman Taylore Wilson started her collegiate career with a 91, as Sabrina Fitzgerald tallied a 92.

Also on the course for the Brits was Zoe Autore, totaling a 98. Miranda McKee (105) and Riley McKinney (107) were the other two competitors for Albion.

The competition wraps up tomorrow at Cascades Golf Course with a 2 p.m. start.
