Women's tennis sweeps in first match of the season

ALBION – Two days after the men's team cruised to victory, the Albion College women's tennis team followed suit with a 9-0 win over Manchester University.

At first doubles, Josie Dunn and Rosy Zuun worked their way to an 8-4 win, while Savannah McDonald and Keiley Black handily won by an 8-0 margin. Wrapping up doubles play was the duo of Jaymee Herrington and Abbie Hubbard, winning 8-4.

In singles action, Zuun won 6-1, 6-0. Dunn came from behind and earned a gritty victory, 2-6, 6-2, 11-9. Playing at third singles was Black, knocking off her opponent with scores of 6-0, 6-1. Hubbard shined in her first collegiate match with a 6-0, 6-1 win, while McDonald followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Molly Dunn rounded out singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Albion will host a doubles event Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
