Women's lacrosse drops OT heartbreaker

ALBION – An early lead evaporated as the Albion College women's lacrosse team dropped a 10-9 overtime heartbreaker to Trine University. 

Through one, Albion held a 6-0 lead, but the Thunder regained composure and fired off nine goals in the final three periods – including in the final 90 seconds to force overtime. In overtime, the visitors netted the game winner just over a minute into the extra time. 

Logan Hutchinson, Ellen Chown and Kyndall Lewis all scored twice for the Britons. Lewis led all Albion players with three points, tacking on one assist. 

Fifth year senior Audrey DeWaters had a team-high seven ground balls and caused four turnovers. 

Sophomore goalie Nicole Miller made 15 saves for the Brits.

The Britons will travel to Calvin University on Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
