Women's lacrosse remains in MIAA playoff picture

ADRIAN, Mich. – Needing a win to stay in the playoff picture, the Albion College women's lacrosse team held on for an 8-7 victory over Adrian College. Logan Hutchinson and Aaliyah Eudabe combined for eight points in the victory.

Trailing 2-0 early on, the Britons rallied for the final three goals of the first quarter. Hutchinson tallied her only goal of the afternoon, followed by a man-up score from Hayla-Lyn Gilly. With 1:47 before the second quarter, Ellen Chown scored to give the visitors a 3-2 lead through one. 

Eudabe's first goal of the day came midway through the second period for a 4-2 lead. The Bulldogs answered with a pair of goals before her second goal of the day helped Albion claim a 5-4 lead at halftime. 

The two teams traded goals in the third quarter, with Albion's lone goal coming from Eudabe. The two Albion goals in the final quarter came from Kellie Flynn and Audrey DeWaters. In the final two minutes, Adrian had opportunities to tie the game, but both possessions Kyndall Lewis caused a turnover to give Albion the ball back. 

Albion was 21 of 23 on the clear. Flynn controlled five draws while Eudabe controlled four. 

On her birthday, sophomore goalie Nicole Miller made six saves.

The Britons will host Hope College for their final home game of the season on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest.
