Miller records career-high in saves in MIAA Semifinals

HOLLAND, Mich. – Taking on the No. 1 seed in the tournament, the Albion College women's lacrosse team fell to Hope College, 17-7 in the MIAA Semifinals. The Flying Dutch used a six goal second quarter to distance themselves from the Brits.

Fifth year Audrey DeWaters ended a marvelous career with a team-high three goals.

Albion received two first quarter goals from Kyndall Lewis and Ellen Chown. The third Briton goal of the first half was courtesy of DeWaters on a free position attempt. Hope settled in during the second quarter, taking a 9-3 lead into halftime.

DeWaters netted the first goal of the second half to bring the visitors to within five. Hope answered with a 3-0 run to close out the period and hold a 12-4 advantage heading into the final 15 minutes.

Lewis, DeWaters and freshman Ashleigh Toth scored in the fourth quarter to conclude the scoring for Albion.

Aaliyah Eudabe's five draw controls led the Brits. Lewis led the team with three ground balls, while Natalie Sweetland, Eudabe and Nicole Miller each had two. Miller recorded a new career-high with 17 saves in net.

The team wraps up the season with a 7-9 overall record in Emily DiRado's first season as head coach.
