PRs stack up in women's golf tournament

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – With a much improved score from day one, the Albion College women's golf team ended their weekend tournament at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic.  Albion took 16th overall, seeing a 12-stroke improvement from Saturday to Sunday. On Saturday, the Britons shot a 352 and turned in a 340 on Sunday for a two-day total of 692. 

Taylore Wilson led Albion over the weekend. The sophomore carded a personal best score of 82 on Saturday and shot an 84 Sunday. Wilson finished the tournament with a 166. Aubrie Schaibly's 90 - 85 – 175 was the next best two-day finish for the Brits. The 85 was a career-low for the freshman. 

Next for the Britons was Miranda McKee's 94 - 86 – 180. Just behind McKee was a 95 - 92 – 187 from Marissa Genske. Junior Zoe Autore rounded out the team scoring, shooting a 93 - 98 – 191. 

Freshman Gabriella Davis competed as an individual, recording an 87 - 85 – 172. Sunday's 85 was a new career-best for Davis.

Albion will be idle for 10 days on the women's side before resuming MIAA competition. The next MIAA Jamboree is scheduled for Sep. 24, hosted by Saint Mary's.
