RESULTS
ALBION, Mich. – The Albion women's swimming & diving team kicked off their season with a 121-112 dual meet loss to Kalamazoo at the Dean Aquatic Center.
Charli Nguyen,
Casey Adcock,
Kaitlyn Kreb and
McKinley Levandoski started off hot for second-year head coach
Eric Murray's squad, as the quartet took first in the 200 medley relay (1:55.41).
Gussie Hartman won the 1,000 freestyle (11:43.11), while Levandoski placed runner-up in the 200 freestyle (2:09.50).
Nguyen was the fastest swimmer in the 50 freestyle (25.99), and so was Adcock in the 200 IM (2:18.21). Nguyen also took third in the 100 backstroke (1:09.63).
Kreb (1:05.98) and Levandoski (58.79) placed second in the 100 butterfly and the 100 freestyle, respectively, while Hartman won her second distance event in the 500 freestyle (5:47.80).
Adcock solidified the team victory with one of her own in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.01), while
Alyssa Glaser (1:16.69) was right behind in second.
For good measure, the Britons' 200 freestyle relay squad of
Mia Carone, Marvin,
Sarah Weissman and Hartman took second in the final event of the meet (2:02.32).
Wayne State transfer
Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru won the one-meter dive (246.40) and placed runner-up in the three-meter event (231.95).
Mia Carone took third in both the one-meter (215.45) and the three-meter (229.60).
