ALBION, Mich. -- In a tightly contested matchup on Sunday, the Albion College men's tennis team walked away with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Earlham College. The Britons secured the doubles point before splitting singles play to clinch the team win.
Albion swept through doubles action, highlighted by a 6-2 win from
Alex Beard and
Connor Schultz at No. 2. At the No. 3 spot,
Carter Kendall and
Brady Pettit pulled out a 7-5 decision, while
Josh Doyle and
Jacob Doyle claimed a 6-3 victory at No. 1.
In singles action,
Brady Pettit rallied for a gritty three-set win at No. 3, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6, while
Josh Doyle also prevailed in a back-and-forth match at No. 4, winning 6-4, 4-6, 1-0.
Malcolm Johnson added a commanding point at No. 6, rolling to a 6-1, 6-0 result.
Today's match marked the end of the Britons' fall season. They will return to action this spring.
