CHARLOTTE, Mich. – The Albion College women's cross country team competed in the MIAA Championships on Saturday afternoon, finishing eighth.
Trine University claimed the league title with a team score of 22. Hope College (55), Calvin University (56) and Kalamazoo College (102) finished out the top four.

Bianca Baird led the way for Albion, crossing the line in 22:57.2 to finish 22nd overall and earn a top-25 conference finish.

Veronica Paniccia were next across the finish line with times of 26:45.5 and 25:38.5, respectively. The duo each set a new personal best with their performance against a talented conference field.
Taylor Adams and Laraya Warnsley rounded out Albion's top five. Adams clocked in with a time of 26:54.1, while Warnsley posted a time of 27:00.3.

Melanie Symons (27:38.8) and sophomore
Lilli Vandervennet (28:14.2) also delivered solid efforts in the season finale. For Vandervennet, her time of 28:14.2 marked a new collegiate best.
