ALBION, Mich. -- The Albion football team lost, 53-24, to Calvin at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium in both teams' final games of the season.
Albion kept it close in the first quarter as they held the Knights to six points. The touchdown was scored on a 24-yard pass with 2:59 left in the period, and the extra point went wide.
Logan Grwinski kicked a 30-yard field goal early in the second quarter, but on the first play of Calvin's ensuing drive Hunter Hogan ran for a 65-yard score to make it 13-3.Â
Cameron Moore had a 13-yard touchdown catch from
Davis Crossman on the next possession to cut the lead back to three.
However, it was all Calvin from there as they scored touchdowns on their next two offensive possessions and on a pick-six to go up 33-10. They also tacked on a field goal to end the half.Â
Albion scored on their first drive of the third on a Moore 18-yard catch to make it 36-17, but Calvin found the end zone on all three of their possessions in the stanza to take a 53-17 advantage.
The Britons' final score came on a 26-yard pass from Crossman to
Dilon Denison less than a minute into the fourth.Â
Crossman went 17 for 29 for 227 yards through the air, while
Tayshaun Nichols registered 79 yards on the ground. Moore had nine catches for a season-high 121 yards, and Denison made five grabs for 75 yards in both of their final collegiate games.Â
Adam Mills recorded a game-high 14 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss.
Alex Olenik notched eight tackles, including 1.5 sacks.Â
