CHARLOTTE, Mich. -- The Albion men's cross country team kicked off their season at Olivet's Comet Open at Broadview Acres Golf Course in a 5K race.

The course, where the MIAA Championships will be held on November 1, hosted five conference teams, and Albion placed fifth.

Logan Vining was the best finiser for the Britons, as he placed 16th with a time of 16:10.4.

Alex Hammond (17:22.7), Israel Aquino (17:36.4) and Karma Evans (17:43.1) ran as a pack and finished consecutively in 26th, 27th and 28th.

Dalton Weber (17:49.7) and Robert Belf III (18:35.3) notched 30th and 33rd, respectively, while Adan Rojas (18:47.9) rounded out the Briton scorers in 34th.

Connor Clark, Ben Eros and Matt Lathom also competed in the race.
