ALBION, MI -- The Albion College men's soccer team turned in an industrious performance at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon that resulted a 0-0 draw against #24 nationally-ranked Ohio Northern University.
The Britons stood tall in a physical tilt against the Polar Bears, as each side battled for possession in the middle of the park. ONU fired 17 shots throughout the contest, pressing against the Britons' defense, but only five found their way on frame.
The Albion defense and sophomore netminder
Tom Veresh were up to the task, however, as Veresh tallied five saves to record the clean sheet, four of which came in the second half to keep the Polar Bears off the scoreboard.
Khalil Camara and
Lucas Medina each tested ONU's Carson Zurmehly in the first half, but weren't able to find the back of the net.
Lucas Anderson and
Binck-Jan Bakker logged 90 minutes apiece on defense to fend off ONU.
