HOWELL, Mich. -- The Albion College men's soccer team kept its unbeaten streak to open the season alive on Wednesday evening with a 2-0 win over Cleary University.
The Britons (2-0-1) used a pair of quickfire goals in the first half to race past the Cougars (4-1) on their home turf. First-year talent
Robin Ruigendijk was the engine for Albion's damage that came within a nearly one-minute time span.
Ruigendijk bagged the first goal of his career with a shot past Cleary's Austin Freemire in the 29 minute. 50 seconds later, the Niewerkerk aan den Ijssel, Netherlands, native combined with
Xavier Yuille on the counter for Albion's second goal of the tilt.
It was smooth sailing from their as the Britons defense once again stifled their opposition. Albion didn't allow a shot on goal for the final 45 minutes to seal the victory. In goal,
Tom Veresh tallied one save to register his second clean sheet of the season.
