Albion, Mich. - Albion Men's Soccer picks up a draw against #18 Calvin. The Brits return to action on Saturday October 17th at 7PM as they travel to Kalamazoo.
Esteban Mercado and
Christian Orpineda each had two shots, while goalie
Tom Veresh had the lone save of the night.
The Knights would come out the gate looking to score getting a shot off in the first two minutes of play. This would be the lone shot for the Knights in the opening period. The Brits would look to get a shot of their own with
Khalil Camara just missing high for the Brits. It would continue to be a battle in the midfield but Mercado would get a shot off that would miss just left of the goal in the 28th minute. The Brits would have a near goal, however the ball would be called out of play on the cross.
Tyler Craig would get the final shot of the half but would have a bit too much power on it and miss just high. The Knights and the Brits would head into the half tied 0-0 with the Brits have a 3-1 lead in shots.
Both teams would look to continue the defense that they had in the first half. Mercado would get the first shot of the second half but it would be just left of the goal. The Knights would respond with a shot of their own but it would also miss left of the goal. The Brits would continue their offensive pressure with a shot by Orpineda that would miss to the right. The Knights would get close to scoring after a shot bounced off the crossbar, however the Brits defense would hold strong. The game would remain a defensive battle in the midfield, however
Lidetu Eyssen would find a gap to take a shot but it would miss just right of the goal. The finals minutes would be a defensive battle but the Brits would hold the Knights offense off in the final minutes to tie.
New and Notes
