Angola, Ind. - The Albion Men's Soccer team tied 0-0 with Trine. With the draw, the Men secure the #2 seed in the MIAA Conference Tournament and earn a bye. They will host the Semi-Finals on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7PM and will play the winner of #3 Hope vs #6 Alma.
Christian Orpineda and
Ivan Murillo led the Brits with three shots each, while
Robin Ruigendijk added two more.
Tom Veresh added three saves.
Both teams would battle through the first half. The Thunder would get the first shots of the game, but the Brits would quickly respond with one of their own in the 26th minute. The remainder of the half would be a defensive battle with neither team getting a shot off. Ruigendijk would get the next shot, and the first on goal for the Brits in the 42nd minute. The half would end 0-0, and the shot count would be 2-3, the with Thunder having the advantage.
The Brits would come out of the half looking to get the lead. The Brits would get the first three shots of the half, with the first being on goal, before they would allow the Thunder to take their first in the 62nd minute. The Brits would continue to put the pressure on the Thunder but coming up just short on each shot. The Brits would hurry and get two shot attempts off before the final horn, however both were off the mark. The Brits would out shoot the Thunder 11-5 in the second half.

With the tie the Brits finish second in the regular season and earn the #2 seed in the conference tournament. This earns them a first round bye, so they will take on the winner of #3 Hope vs #6 Alma on Tuesday November 3rd at 7:00 PM.
