Polar Bears Pull Away From Britons in Women's Lacrosse Opener

ADA, Ohio. – A fast start from Ohio Northern proved too much for the Albion women's lacrosse team to overcome, as the Britons fell 16-5 in the Britons' season debut.

Ohio Northern built a 3-1 lead after the first quarter and stretched the advantage to 9-2 at halftime, using extended possessions and a heavy shot volume to stay in front. The Polar Bears finished with a 44-15 edge in shots and an 18-6 margin on draw controls, allowing them to control the tempo and limit Albion's chances in transition.

Albion's offense was paced by Logan Hutchinson and Anna Huard, who each tallied two goals, while the Britons' fifth goal rounded out the scoring late in regulation. Hutchinson added four shots and three ground balls, and Huard contributed six shots and three draw controls as the duo generated much of Albion's attack.

Despite the final score, the Britons forced 18 ONU turnovers and collected 16 ground balls, showing stretches of strong defensive pressure and hustle play. Goalie Nicole Miller faced a heavy workload in the crease, making 16 saves on 32 shots on goal over the full 60 minutes.

Ohio Northern closed out the contest with a 4-1 third quarter and a 3-2 fourth, sealing the 16-5 final. Albion continued to battle through the final whistle, converting on late opportunities and tightening up defensively in the closing minutes.
