Women's Lacrosse Drops to Augustana

ALBION, Mich. — The Albion women's lacrosse team dropped their final home nonconference game to Augustana, 17-8, at Alumni Field.

The Vikings drew first blood with the game's initial goal, but Lauren Thomas evened it up with a score on an assist from Ellen Chwon less than 30 seconds later.

However, Augustana would go onto notch the period's final five goals to take a 6-1 advantage.

Albion did get two goals to open the second, courtesy of Anna Huard and Abbey Scott, to make it a three-goal game. The Vikings would add two more, and Abbey Scott and Thomas also tacked on two as Augustana held an 8-5 lead at the intermission.

Four more goals ensued for the Vikings in the third to extend their advantage to 12-5.

Huard scored twice in the fourth, and Abbey Scott notched another as well.

Huard and Abbey Scott each recorded hat tricks, while Thomas had two scores. Abbey Scott also recorded seven of Albion's 19 caused turnovers.

Nicole Miller had 10 saves in net as well.
