ALBION, Mich. — The Albion women's lacrosse team used a dominant second quarter and a balanced scoring effort to earn a 14-10 MIAA victory over Alma on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field, improving to 3-9 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Britons led 4-3 after the first quarter behind early goals from Logan Hutchinson, Ellen Chown, and Anna Huard, with Hutchinson cashing in on a man-up chance off a Chown feed. Albion broke the game open in the second, outscoring Alma 6-1 in the frame to take a 10-4 lead into halftime. Abbey Scott struck for three goals in the quarter—two on free-position chances—while Huard added two more and Hayla-Lyn Gilly finished a Chown assist.
The Britons stretched the advantage to 12-5 early in the third on man-up tallies from Gilly and Hutchinson, and while Alma made a late push in the fourth, Albion maintained control down the stretch.

Scott recorded a hat trick, Gilly posted two goals and an assist, and Chown chipped in one goal and a team-high five shots while handing out multiple key helpers. The Britons held narrow edges in shots (34-31) and draw controls (14-9) and converted 1-of-4 free-position attempts.
