GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Albion women's lacrosse team fell to Calvin, 19-10, on the road.
The Knights rattled off the game's first three goals before
Abbey Scott got the Britons on the board 9:35 in.
Anna Huard made it a one-goal deficit a little more than a minute later, but Calvin recorded the period's final four scores to take a 7-2 advantage.
Huard and
Lauren Thomas got the Britons closer with the initial goals of the second. However, the Knights rolled seven consecutive goals and go into the locker room up 14-4.
Albion did outscore Calvin, 4-2, in the third with goals coming from
Logan Hutchinson (2), Huard and Thomas and found themselves still down by eight, 16-8, at the end of the third.
Huard scored the final two for Albion in the fourth.
Huard notched five goals, while Thomas and Hutchinson each had two.
Ellen Chown also contributed three assists.
For the game, Calvin outshot Albion, 39-15, and
Nicole Miller made 15 saves in net.
