Sixteen Teams Receive MIAA Team GPA Award, Women's Basketball Notches Highest of Any Program in Conference

BRIGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has recognized 16 Albion athletics teams with the 2025-26 MIAA Team GPA Award.

The MIAA Team GPA Award is presented annually to conference teams that achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.300 or higher during the academic year. Team GPAs are calculated at the conclusion of the academic year.

Among the 137 teams that received distinction across the conference, Albion's women's basketball team had the highest GPA of any squad with a mark of 3.83. Volleyball had the second-highest of any Briton program (3.76) followed by softball (3.74), women's cross country (3.74) and women's golf (3.71).

Other Albion squads to receive distinction include women's indoor track & field (3.65), women's lacrosse (3.61), baseball (3.59), women's outdoor track & field (3.58), women's soccer (3.53), men's lacrosse (3.48), women's tennis (3.47), men's soccer (3.46), men's swimming & diving (3.46), men's cross country (3.43) and men's basketball (3.38).

All nine MIAA member institutions had at least half of their MIAA-sponsored athletic teams earn the distinction while every eligible athletic department recorded double-digit honorees.

The MIAA has presented the Team GPA Award annually since the 1998-99 academic year.
