Albion, Mich. - Owen McDaniel has been named the Interim Head Men's Wrestling Coach following the resignation of Tom Hall.

McDaniel was a member of the Wrestling program from 2021-2025 and was named the assistant coach following graduation for the 2025-2026 season. "I am excited Owen will be taking over as our interim head coach. Owen was an accomplished wrestler for us and understands what it takes to be successful. I look forward to supporting him in this new role." said Athletic Director Jennifer Rushton.

"Leadership may change, but the mission remains the same. Having been a part of Albion Wrestling since the program began in 2021, first as a student athlete and now as a coach, this opportunity means more to me than words can express. Albion is a special place, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue giving back to a community that has given so much to me. We have established a standard of excellence within this program, and I am excited to build upon that foundation alongside our student athletes, coaching staff, and the entire Albion community. I believe in the people we have here, the direction we are heading, and what we are capable of accomplishing together. The standard has been set, the mission is clear, and our best days are still ahead of us." said McDaniel when asked about how he feels stepping into this new role within the program.

The Men's Wrestling team will open their season in just over a month at Trine on November 7th.
