Parker Laketa is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Albion in 2026.
Laketa served as the defensive coordinator at Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Mich., during the 2019 season. He guided the Spartans to a 16-4 record, and one player (Ryan Lamb) signed with Detroit Mercy. Laketa also coached at Lakeview Middle School and served as a camp counselor at Culver Academy in Culver, Ind.
A 2017 graduate of Western Michigan, Laketa played on the Broncos' club lacrosse team for three seasons and served as a team captain his senior year.
Laketa comes from an athletic family. His father, Parker, played basketball at Kansas State and was an assistant coach at Notre Dame in the 1990's. His mother, Brigitte, competed in gymnastics at Western Michigan.Â
Laketa has three brothers who also played college sports. His brother, Rhett, played basketball at Alma and Carthage, while his younger brother, Luc, was a preferred walk-on at Iowa and appeared in 20 career games for the Hawkeyes. He now plays at UM-Dearborn. Luc's twin, Rhett, played basketball at North Central. Their grandfather, Don, played basketball at Wichita State from 1952-55.
The Concord, Mich., native graduated from Hanover-Horton High School in 2013.
