Biography
2022-23 | FRESHMAN
- Finished the season 18-10 (.643).
- 2 major decisions, 5 tech falls, and 4 falls.
- Placed third at 133 at the MIAA Championships. He started his day with a 15-0 tech fall win and then earned an 11-6 victory. Matheney lost in the semifinals, but won his first match in the wrestlebacks with a pin in 6:21 before a 7-4 victory in the third place bout.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Earned four letters in wrestling at Lamphere High School
- Selected as team captain for three years
- Notched all-state honors in 2022, finishing sixth at the state meet
- Three-time state qualifier
- Also earned two letters in cross country
