Catriana Carroll enters her third season as assistant coach at Albion in 2025 working with middle and outside hitters with specialty in blocking.

In 2024, Carroll helped the Britons rank No. 3 in the MIAA in total blocks with 191.5 while Reese Williams tallied a team-high 95.0.

During the 2023 season, Carroll mentored Ja’Nyece Larry to second-team All-MIAA honors after she finished with 113 blocks that ranked second in the conference and top 25 in Division III. Williams's 73 blocks ranked eighth in the MIAA as well.

Prior to Albion, she was the head coach at Jackson Northwest High School in 2021, where she has helped the program grow by implementing a middle school program. Carroll has also been an assistant coach for high school women’s basketball at her alma mater, Jackson Lumen Christi High School. Additionally, she has coaching experience at Charlotte High School, along with assisting with boys volleyball at Northwest.

Carroll played volleyball for two seasons from 2021-22 at Wayne State University as a middle blocker. She appeared in one career match and was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team in 2022 along with being selected to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times. In 2021, she helped the Warriors earn a spot in the NCAA Division II Tournament while being redshirted.

As a freshman in 2020, Carroll attended the University of Louisville and was a member of the rowing team. Despite not appearing in a competition due to the COVID-shortened season, she earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and was named a Red & Black Scholar. 

The Jackson, Mich. native enjoyed a stellar, four-year volleyball career at Lumen Christi High School, where she earned all-region and first-team All-Interstate 8 accolades as a senior in 2019. That season, she tallied a school record 495 kills and also added 404 digs, 131 blocks and 107 service aces while serving as a team captain. She concluded her career with 1,767 kills and was an honorable mention All-Interstate 8 player as a sophomore in 2017. 

Carroll was also an outstanding basketball and tennis player for the Titans, having earned four letters in each sport. In basketball, she received all-state honors as a senior after averaging 14.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game while being a team captain. In tennis, she played No. 1 doubles and helped the team to a regional championship and top 10 finish at the MHSAA Division 4 state finals while also being a team captain.

She carried a 3.87 GPA in high school while being named an Academic All-Interstate 8 selection in all three sports along with being a member of the National Honor Society. She also played club volleyball for MICA and basketball for Premier.

Carroll graduated from Wayne State in December 2024 with a degree in psychology and a minor in sport coaching. She is currently in the accelerated nursing program at Michigan State University to become a registered nurse.

Catriana's parents are Sean and Lisa Carroll, and she has two older brothers, John and Sean. They are also related to Brock Gutierrez, who played in 123 games across nine seasons in the NFL. He played college football at Central Michigan.
