Sam Fullerton enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Albion in 2026.

Fullerton arrives in Albion after serving as a private coach for Pryor Baseball Farm in Wesley Chapel, Fla. in 2025, training youth baseball players alongside coaches who had decades of professional experience.

From 2023-24, Fullerton was volunteer assistant coach at Eastern Michigan when he was a graduate student.

In his role, Fullerton assisted heavily with data analysis creating Trackman reports from practices and games as well as advance scouting, helping the Eagles to a MAC title in 2023.

In 2024, Fullerton also served as the pitching/third base coach for Detroit Northwestern High School, where he coached a first-year pitcher to a no hitter in just his second career appearance.

While at Eastern Michigan, Fullerton competed on the Eagles’ track & field team as a thrower in 2023 before graduating with his master’s in sports management in 2024.

Fullerton attended Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio and earned a bachelor’s in sports management in 2022. He played five seasons of baseball as a pitcher for the Gray Wolves from 2018-22, making 15 career appearances and was a member of the first Lourdes baseball team to play in the WHAC Tournament in 2018.

He also competed on Lourdes’s track & field team as a javelin thrower, setting the program record in the event.

The St. Ignace, Mich. native was a 15-time letterwinner in baseball, football, hockey, wrestling and track & field at LaSalle High School. Fullerton was a three-time All-Straits Area Conference baseball player, including a first-team campaign as a junior where he batted .483.

Competing in track & field for his mother, Emily, who ran track and cross country at Central Michigan, Fullerton was a two-time all-state athlete in the discus while winning conference and regional titles in the event. He played fourth in the state finals as well.

Fullerton also played summer baseball for the Saginaw Sugar Beets in 2019 and briefly played professional hockey for the Cheboygan Wendigo of the MIHL, serving as an assistant captain.

Fullerton’s brother, Joe, played football at Albion from 2014-17 and appeared in 20 games.
