ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Albion College swimming and diving team enjoyed some good performances despite losing to Grand Valley State University in a non-league dual meet Friday, Nov. 19. Grand Valley defeated Albion in the men's meet by a score of 123-101, and in the women's meet by the score of 129-103.
Senior Will Green remained unbeaten in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events as he turned in his fastest times of the year. Green's time of 1:46.44 in the 200 was nearly two seconds better than the second-place finisher from Grand Valley. His time in the 500 was 4:51.77.
Sophomore Dan Fradeneck won the diving events, splashing his way to the top of the ladder on the 1-meter board with a score of 234.90.
The Briton men claimed the top three places in the 100 breast and 500 free. In the 500 free, Green was followed by junior A.J. Dancho and senior Matt Ochab. In the 100 breast, junior John Fodell took first with a time of 1:02.17, followed by freshman Kevin Flynn and senior Joe Zessin.
