ALBION, Mich. – Albion College placed first in 12 of 16 events as it defeated Saint Mary's College, 196-97, in a women's swimming & diving dual meet.
Julie Okorn touched the wall first in the distance freestyle (500 and 1,000-yard) and 200-yard butterfly and she was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team. Anna Hargrove won the backstroke races and she swam on both relays. Emily Pinter won the breaststroke events and joined Hargrove and Okorn on the medley relay.
MacKenzie Chesley took first place in the 100-yard butterfly and she swam on the winning relays. She also took second to Okorn in the 200 butterfly.
In diving, Lauren Rao posted a winning score of 205.35 on the 1-meter board and Amy Bell secured first place on 3-meter with a score of 199.
Albion will complete the first weekend of duals at 1 p.m. Saturday with a home meet against Kalamazoo College.
