Box Score The Albion College women's soccer team held a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute of their Wednesday afternoon match against Trine University, but the Britons could not hold on long enough for a victory and were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw.
The Britons registered six shots on goal and senior midfielder Rachel Reem scored Albion's lone goal on a penalty kick at the 66:26 mark in the second half.
Albion continued to battle throughout the rest of the contest, but did not register another shot on goal before the Thunder scored the equalizing goal on a header following a corner kick at the 82:58 mark.
Sophomore midfielder Kristine Graham had a shot with less than five minutes remaining in regulation time, but missed high. The Britons last chance to win the game prior to extra time ended in the final two minutes after Albion was called offside.
The Britons only managed to put two shots on goal in the two extra periods before settling for the 1-1 draw, which snapped a five-match losing streak and could help Albion gain some momentum as Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play kicks into high gear.
Next up for the Britons is a road contest against Calvin College this Saturday. The scheduled starting time is 12 p.m. ET.
