Missed Scoring Chances Haunt Britons

Box Score

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College coach Eric Scott replayed his team's missed scoring chances in the first half after the Britons came up on the short end of a 2-0 decision to Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer contest played at Alumni Field.

Albion first-year forward Domenique Sarnecky tested Adrian goalkeeper Lexi Lewandowski three times in the first half and she came away empty each time. Caroline Eagan also placed a shot on goal in the first half as Albion held a 4-2 edge in shots on goal after 45 minutes of play.

Albion did not have an answer for Erin Weide, the MIAA's scoring leader in the second half. Weide assisted on Ellery Karsten's goal five minutes after halftime and she tallied her 12th goal of the season midway through the period. Sofia Farah, Karsten and Weide finished with three shots apiece for the Bulldogs.

Sarnecky finished with four shots for Albion, and Jessica Bidock chipped in with two.

Albion will travel to Kalamazoo Saturday for its next league contest.
