OLIVET, Mich. – Albion College will take the momentum generated by back-to-back wins into the offseason after scoring a 2-1 overtime victory over Olivet College in its season finale.

Jessica Bidock tacked on the game-winning goal with 4:03 left in the first overtime period. She timed a run perfectly to sneak behind the center backs while Lindsay Lubanski hit a free kick from 40 yards out and to the right of the goalkeeper.

"Lindsay played the free kick a little faster than they expected, and Jessica showed composure to take a half-volley," Albion coach Eric Scott said. "She didn't over hit it. She wanted to place the shot on frame."

Bidock's goal capped a match where it appeared Olivet had the momentum on its side. Domenique Sarnecky scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season 2 ½ minutes into the second half to give Albion the lead. Olivet controlled the remainder of regulation, taking 13 shots, and the Comets scored the equalizer when Brooke Leach placed low shot in the goal with 15 minutes to play.

"Olivet was very good in the second half," Scott said. "(Albion goalkeeper) Mackenzie Hurlburt kept us in the game. Our attitude going into overtime was good."

Hurlburt finished the contest with eight saves.

Scott said the program has established its expectation despite a 2-13-1 record against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals in his first season as head coach.

"Our opponents in the league know playing Albion isn't going to be a rollover anymore," Scott said. "Our expectation is to be competitive in the conference."
