HOLLAND, Mich. - Albion College was defeated by Oberlin College and Kenyon College on the first day of the Michigan-Ohio Challenge.
Albionheld a 2-1 lead after doubles, but it was unable to secure a point in singles in a 5-2 loss to Oberlin.
Margaux Kabodian and Heather Vogt earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles and Katie Blumberg and Leah Saurman scored an 8-3 win at No. 3.
Albion lost three of the four singles matches that finished in straight sets. Blumberg extended her opponent to three sets in the No. 3 match.
Albion also lost to Kenyon by a 5-2 score. Kabodian and Vogt pulled out a tiebreaker to win the No. 2 doubles match and Irene Chen won the No. 2 singles match in three sets.
